Austrians Fellier Florian and Felix Brunhuber, better known as Wild Culture, have fast become two of Kittball’s most prized producers. Their arrival to the German imprint came in late 2012 with ‘For Everything’ making a prominent dent in Beatport’s Deep House chart, an immediate success which saw the duo return to the label to release a three-track EP titled ‘Faith’ featuring singer-songwriter Josh Savage as well as Kittball’s leading lady Juliet Sikora. Now as a tribute to the duo’s work Kittball present a remix package with a host of skilled producers remodelling three of the Austrian most sublime tracks. First off Nico Pusch takes ‘Faith’ into subterranean depths, stripping back it’s off beat percussion and replacing it with thudding four-four and waves of esoteric synths. When he started to make waves in 2007, after years spent honing his craft in Berlin, the talk was of a DJ who used melodies, vocals and warmth to tell his story. Founded in 2000 in London, England, the trio is comprised of Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness, and Paavo Siljamäki. Prior to founding Above & Beyond, Grant and Siljamäki met at the University of Westminster and founded the Anjunabeats label. Shortly afterward, they met McGuinness, teamed up as Above & Beyond, and did a remix for Chakra's "Home." Having started 2013 with her Roar EP for the same label, Nicole sets up 2014 with an equally impressive release for Carl Coxs techno monolith Intec. Being released on 27 Jan 2014 One Day Later is a two track EP that brings Nicoles signature sound direct to the dancefloor. Title track One Day Later is a thumping main room techno cut whose no holds barred approach delivers a fast paced aural assault. A deep high tempo bass underpins and drives the track forward toward futuristic shimmering synths that release the restrained hedonism of the first part of the track. Unknown Parts has more of carnival flair to it and it definitely the more accessible of the two tracks. A subtle rolling rhythm, intricate drum patterns and a chugging bass are effortlessly interwoven to create an air of mysticism that will provide those all important eyes wide shut moments on many a dance-floor.
